VP of Accounting and Finance

Finance

One of Maine’s premier social services agencies, The Opportunity Alliance, has an excellent career opportunity for a VP of Accounting and Finance to assume a leadership responsibility in our Finance department.

You will provide supervision of the management staff of our Finance Department.  You’ll have responsibility for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing strong financial policies, internal controls and reporting systems.  You will ensure accurate and timely analysis and reporting of financial information, which reflect proper accounting and compliance practices that meet reporting standards of funding sources, regulatory requirements and the needs of agency management.  You will ensure preparedness for audits and timely issuance of reports for financial statement, compliance, and 403(b) audits and 990 preparation. 

The right person for this job will be a proven finance professional.  You will have a BA in Accounting and an MBA, CMA or CPA is preferred.  You will need to have 10 to 15 years experience in the accounting field, with at least 5 to 7 years of successful supervisory experience.   You must have demonstrated ability to work with funding sources, sound knowledge of GAAP, accounting systems and internal control application.  Knowledge of federal and state compliance regulations is preferred including MAAP, CFDA, A-133, A-122, and A-110.  You must be capable of being bonded.

Parent Partner I 

Advocacy & Prevention

Per diem position

Youth Alternatives Ingraham is seeking a per diem Parent Partner I to join our Advocacy & Prevention Team at our Lydia Lane location in South Portland. 

You will provide peer support and assistance to parents involved with Child Protective Services and participate in Family Team Meetings.  You will provide individual support with parents to maximize parent voice, choice and involvement throughout the Child Protective process.  You will provide coaching to the parents and other members of Family Team in an effort to increase awareness and improve the effectiveness of family-professional partnerships

Qualifications:  Must have personal experience with Child Protective Services; must have resolved all issues related to involvement with DHHS and had case closed a minimum of one year.  Must have demonstrated the capacity to work collaboratively with a variety of community agencies providing service to families.  High School Graduate/GED (or equivalent if educated in another country).  Some college preferred.  Demonstrated ability to work independently with a variety of different communities and cultures required.  Computer proficiency and a good driving record is a requirement.  Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

Residential Relief 
 

Per diem position

Are you a student, a busy parent or a semi-retired worker looking for a part-time job with a schedule that works for you?  Youth Alternatives Ingraham is seeking per diem residential staff to work in our 9 group homes.  Our group homes provide a great opportunity to work with different populations including teenagers, adult and geriatric clients.  You will learn skills to help residents remain safe, lead fuller lives and manage symptoms of mental illness and substance abuse disorders.  You will teach skills that foster independence and support residents in achieving their goals. This position provides a great introduction to the social services field and is an excellent addendum to any social sciences education program. As a per diem staff you make your own schedule based on your availability.  Youth Alternatives Ingraham provides a fun and supportive work environment with a strong focus on staff development and retention.  Comprehensive, paid training is provided.

Qualifications:  BA/BS or enrollment in undergraduate social services programs or combination of high school diploma and experience.  Desire to make a difference in the lives of our clients and contribute to a team environment is essential.  Computer proficiency, good driving history and comprehensive background checks required.

Residential Services Technician

Gordon Green
 

24 hours/wk

Youth Alternatives Ingraham is seeking a part-time (24 hours) hourly Residential Services Technician to join the team at one of our 9 group homes – Gordon Green.   Gordon Green, located in South Portland, offers safety, care, and hope to adults under guardianship with a combination of challenges.

You will provide residents with necessary support for accomplishing tasks of daily living, collaborate in establishing treatment goals, assist with the implementation of the treatment plan and help ensure safety in the milieu for residents and staff.  In addition, you will provide daily supervision to the residents as well as provide some household management as well as share responsibility for documentation of daily activity and client progress.  Youth Alternatives Ingraham provides a fun and supportive work environment with a strong focus on staff development and retention.

Qualifications:  BA/BS in human services or related field, or a combination of education and experience is required.  Desire to make a difference in the lives of our clients and contribute to a team environment is essential.  Computer proficiency, a good driving history and ability to pass comprehensive background checks are required.
