department's mission and philosophy
The training department supports high quality services to the people in Maine through the enhancement of participants' qualifications and skills.  The training department develops training that build employees' qualifications and skills at Youth Alternatives Ingraham, and when appropriate, opens trainings to the public in order to share information, resources and enhance the learning environment.


Ongoing Offerings

american heart association cpr and first aid training
Youth Alternatives Ingraham offers bi-weekly american heart association cpr and first aid trainings to members of the community. These trainings are offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Family Center in South Portland. The trainings are facilitated by North East Mobile Health Services. Members of the community who would like to take this training for a nominal fee can contact North East Mobile Health Services at 510-0073 Ext. 108 for class dates and to register. Upon completion, the participant will be certified in cpr and/or first aid by the American Hearth Association for two years.

certificate program in transformative mediation
The training department is fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the wealth of experience and knowledge within Youth Alternatives Ingraham in order to offer valuable trainings, such as the certificate program in transformative mediation, to those in the community. Through this training participants will learn more about the transformative mediation process as well as get a broad overview of the mediation field.
