Celebrating Foster Care Month; Planting at the Portland Expo

PORTLAND (May 19, 2009) — June is Foster Family month and Youth Alternatives Ingraham is celebrating! Together with the Southern Maine Foster Family Recruitment Team, City of Portland, Broadway Gardens, Portland Sea Dogs and the general public, Youth Alternatives Ingraham will gather together at the Portland Expo on Saturday, June 6th, for the Hope Blooms in Foster Care Event.

Equipped with shovels, gardening gloves and hand tools, gardeners and foster family supporters will plant two beautiful flower beds outside the Expo in honor and support of the loving families who open their homes and hearts for children in our community.

The Hope Blooms in Foster Care event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Park Avenue location in Portland, and will include a visit from the lovable Portland Sea Dogs mascot, Slugger. Celebrations will conclude with an evening Sea Dogs game at Hadlock Field.
