NEWS, TRAININGS AND EVENTS FOR YI MEDIATORS
Up-coming Transformative Mediation Trainings:
Learn about and have opportunities to practice transformative mediation with this five day training program. Facilitated by Dob Bopsie and Karen Groat,this training will focus on the transformative orientation and includes a brief outline of other mediation models, giving you a broad overview of the mediation field. Different Learning styles, including lecture, demonstration, discussion, interaction, and practice scenarios will be incorporated. This training offers a container for meaningful learning, as well as an opportunity for growing, accessing our innate wisdom and having fun!

ABOUT TRANSFORMATIVE MODEL TRAININGS
In January 2001, Youth Alternatives Ingraham Family Mediation undertook a one-year pilot project to focus on the transformative mediation model. This model focuses less on specific outcomes, and more on how family members relate to one another. Youth Alternatives Ingraham Family Mediation adopted the transformative model of mediation in January 2002.
TRANSFORMATIVE MODEL STUDY GROUPS
Look for 2009 study group dates coming in November.
Study groups combine education and support. Through videotaping, debriefing, topical discussions and case studies, learning and growth happen.
Volunteer mediators are required to attend a minimum of 2 study groups per year.
