Acute Care Services are designed to promote the stabilization of an acute crisis and provide a link to other longer-term community resources as needed. Priority is given to those individuals at significant risk for harm, deterioration in functioning, or have limited or underdeveloped support systems.
The acute care clinicians, crisis resource counselor, and psychiatrists provide short-term follow-up services towards successful crisis resolution.
- The Acute Care Clinicians provide planned short-term brief therapy to individuals following an acute crisis episode and an initial intervention by a mobile outreach worker.
- The Crisis Resource Counselor provides planned short-term follow-up support to individuals following an acute crisis episode and an initial intervention by a mobile outreach worker.
- Psychiatric Services provides psychiatric evaluation, follow-up, and medication management to individuals following an acute crisis episode and an initial intervention by a mobile outreach worker. The focus is on 1) psychiatric evaluation, 2) psychiatric follow-up, 3) medication management, and 4) consultation to crisis staff.
