Open House for Foster Care Program
SOUTH PORTLAND— Youth Alternatives Ingraham invites Maine residents to attend an upcoming Foster Care Open House and information session, Thursday, June 4th from 6:30pm to 8pm, at the Family Center in South Portland. This is an opportunity for curious and prospective foster parents to learn more about the process of becoming a foster parent with Youth Alternatives Ingraham and have many valuable questions answered by experienced foster care staff.
Light refreshments will be served at the open house as guests learn how to navigate the foster care system. Topics of the night will include information on the differences between Treatment Foster Care and Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care, the foster parent qualification process, training opportunities, and experiences of past Youth Alternatives Ingraham clients.
“This open house is a great way for families and individuals to find out more about foster care in a private and comfortable setting” explains foster care program coordinator, Sarah MacLaughlin. “We want to spend some time helping people find out what the foster care process is like, what it has to offer and if it’s for them.”
The Youth Alternatives Ingraham Foster Care program will continue to hold information sessions at the family center on a monthly basis throughout the year.
