Heritage House
Heritage House in South Portland is a 10 bed program serving girls, ages 13-18 who are in need of intensive mental health treatment in a residential setting. The program is designed to treat mental health and substance abuse issues through a holistic approach. This includes intensive family treatment, as well as integrating family and other natural supports throughout treatment. The program also places a strong emphasis on community service and restorative justice where applicable.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Treatment and High Fidelity Wraparound (both have evidenced based outcomes).

- Gender Responsive Environment: Reflects an understanding of the realities of women’s and girl’s lives and is responsive to their needs and strengths.
- Individualized Treatment and Discharge Plan: All staff are facilitators of the child’s treatment plan. Clients work with staff to develop a comprehensive discharge plan keeping them connected to people and services if needed.
- Staff are trained in cognitive behavioral strategies specific to reducing criminongenic risk factors, motivational interviewing, drug testing, MANDT, Red Cross CPR and First Aid, medication administration and the Resiliency Model.
- Clients have access to substance abuse treatment.
- Eligible youth are referred through the ITRT process.
