Maine Families

Maine Families, a great start for new parents!

Maine Families understands that all parents want the best for their babies.  Our caring and professional home visitors will partner with you to access the information and resources that can support the physical and emotional health of your baby and entire family.  In addition to home visiting, Maine Families offers parents the opportunity to connect with other parents by attending our Parents & Children Together groups. How a Home Visitor Helps

Home Visitors are experienced professionals who can help you:

  • Assess your child's growth and social, emotional and intellectual development
  • Learn more about age-appropriate skills and activities
  • Establish a loving relationship with your child
  • Make your home a baby-safe environment
  • Cope with common challenges, like teething, sleep and discipline
  • Gain confidence in your parenting

What's more your home visitor can help put you in touch with the resouces that your family needs.

Who's Eligible?

Our services are available free of charge to first-time parents throughout most of Cumberland county. To be eligible for home visiting, parents must enroll prenatally or before the baby reachs three months of age. Home visitors can start visiting families before their children are born and be there for families until their child is five years of age.
