About Training at Youth Alternatives Ingraham
Department's Mission and Philosophy
The training department supports high quality services to the people in Maine through the enhancement of participants' qualifications and skills. The training department develops training that build employees' qualifications and skills at Youth Alternatives Ingraham, and when appropriate, opens trainings to the public in order to share information, resources and enhance the learning environment.

Ongoing Offerings
American Heart Association CPR and First Aid training
Youth Alternatives Ingraham offers bi-weekly American Heart Association CPR and First Aid trainings to members of the community. These trainings are offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every other Tuesday at our Family Center in South Portland. The trainings are facilitated by North East Mobile Health Services. Members of the community who would like to take this training for a nominal fee can contact North East Mobile Health Services at 510-0073 Ext. 108 for class dates and to register. Upon completion, the participant will be certified in CPR and First Aid by the American Hearth Association for two years.
MHSS
Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS) training is required to receive your MHRT-1. MHSS covers the role of the mental health support specialist, understanding mental health and mental illness, trauma, health and recovery, communication and confidentiality. Participation in all sessions is required. Training is five days, 9am to 4pm.

MANDT
The Mandt Full Course is the initial Mandt training. Participants must be present for the full 2 day, 16 hour training. Completion of this course certifies the participant in Mandt for 1 year. Cost is $150. Please contact Patty Mann at 523-5019 for availability. Click here for registration form.

Mandt Recertification: Completion of this course certifies the participant in Mandt for 1 year. Course is 8 hours. Participant must have current certification in Mandt to take this course. CRMA
Live CRMA 40-hour course. CRMA certification is necessary to get the MHRT-1 certification. Certification is good for two years. Med passes will have to be done at the participant's place of business. Certificate Programs
Certificate Program in Transformative Mediation
The training department is fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the wealth of experience and knowledge within Youth Alternatives Ingraham in order to offer valuable trainings, such as the certificate program in transformative mediation, to those in the community. Through this training participants will learn more about the transformative mediation process as well as get a broad overview of the mediation field.
